2 principal versions are used for image editing: CS2 and CS3.Main menu:
1. File Contain options New,Open,Browse,Import,Scripts and others. If select New , a new working file were you can select the name, the width and height (in pixels,inch,mm,points and columns),resolution,color mode (has RGB,Bitmap,Grayscale,CMYK color and Lab color), the background content (white,transparent or background color) or choose a custom mode for the new image sheet) (A3,A4,letter,default size etc.) After you click OK , the new page will appear. The simple way is to open a picture with Adobe CS2 or CS3 and work on this , if you are a beginner .In the left side we have adobe photoshop tools window.Very useful tools for image edit and modifications are Magic Wand Tool (select this tool, click one time on the picture and will automatically select from the picture the entire space with the same color with the point were you have clicked ;can cut and fill with background or foreground color,for example).The 2 squares near down of the toolbar represent the background and foreground colors;they have quick selections .This explanation was necessary because the Gradient Tool will fill with a decreasing scale between foreground and background colors.Just select Gradient and drag the mouse over the image and let the mouse untouched;you will obtain a gradient effect.Adobe Photoshop allow to insert text ,not just colors and images.The Horizontal Type Tool will insert words and you can choose the font and the size .Brush tool permit you to brush the images with a variety of shapes and colors .

Has a lot of features and is the most comprehensive image editor for normal and expert users .Can compete with him just Paint , a Corel product .You can calculate and modify the size of images, transform and add color effects to an image,improve quality and even repair images . CS3 is not used as an image viewer,is for editors and professions.Is available for free download as a demo.This program qualities are incredible ,but you need a lot of time to learn all the functions .It is look like learning OpenOffice or Excel formulas. For Photoshop,an image is composed by different layers.You can add or edit every layer to a picture .With the Color Picker you can choose the desired color setting the contrast,brightness or using web colors (web colors are very simple color ,a standard from few years ago when the monitors and graphic cards was not so competitive).
Adobe ImageReady is an additional product for this tool and is expert to do animations .At Window Menu,there are the toolbars who you want to appear or not on your screen.You can not work in the same time with all the tools because has a lot of options.you need to know what is for every window .Pressing F1 you will get support for using this image editor.A minus is the zoom option because is very simple and not easy to select;also, Adobe Photoshop need a lot of computer resources to run.
2.Filter
You can add filter to images ,select the texture,translate colors and extract code colors from other sources.
Can set the canavas size ,rotate or flip pictures and to your own keyboard shortcuts.
Another feature for Adobe CS3 is the transformation of the photos in block,setting a special function.
