XML Menu is powered by an AJAX (Asynchronous JavaScript and XML) kernel. Power users can still take advantage of the AJAX kernel while coding or modifying their XML/CSS by hand, using the editor of their choice. XML Menu departs from traditional DHTML menus that require users to supply menu data for every single page of their site in the form of unordered list elements. Instead, XML Menu generates data that is kept in a standards-compliant, external XML file, making it both easy-to-modify and validate. Menu presentation information is kept in external CSS files. This fulfills the ultimate goal of web development purists, since XML Menu provides both full-standardization and full separation of content from presentation. XML Menu provides full search engine support through the standardized XML Sitemap protocol. XML Menu does not require Flash or any other plug-in.
