Once installed, QTranslate will place an icon in your system tray providing you easy access to dictionaries, virtual keyboards or translation history. Also, if the mouse mode is enabled you can view the translation of any selected text in a pop-up window that will show up instantly or by simply clicking the icon next to the cursor.
You can also enter the text you want to translate manually in the main window (the app will automatically detect the language), switch between the translation services provided, enable spell checking and also convert text to speech.
From „Options” you can enable/disable history, change the default auto-detect languages, customize the predefined hotkeys, uncheck the services (both translation and dictionary) and languages you don’t want to use and also make several appearance adjustments.
Pros:
- intuitive interface
- support for many languages and translation services
- includes spell checking and text-to-speech functions
Bottom line:
QTranslate is very easy to use and can be of great help for those who read and/or write in a foreign language on a regular basis.
