You can use your mouse to select and display different objects like stars, moons, galaxies, comets along with some information and details about them such as distance, luminosity, diameter, class etc. or you can go to the Navigation menu and check the other options available – select objects by name or go to/track selections.
By right clicking the Sun for instance, you can select and travel toward planets, asteroids, comets like Borrelly and Halley or space crafts such as Cassini and Galileo. Moreover, you can explore the universe by simply selecting a destination from the Tour Guide’s list or using the embedded Solar System and Star browsers.
Additionally, Celestia enables you to reverse or change the simulation time, split the view window horizontally or vertically, display labels and grids (Equatorial, Galactic etc), add atmospheres and cloud shadows as well as take screenshots and record your virtual explorations as AVI files.
