The app will start with a blank tablature and a track list displayed at the bottom of the main window. Before starting to insert notes into a new song, you need to set up the track list – add new tracks for each instrument you use (jazz electric guitar, piano, flute, violin, viola etc.), name the tracks and set the number of strings.
Furthermore, you are allowed to define a time signature, set the value for tempo (BPM), choose a clef type (treble, bass, tenor or alto) and a key signature (natural, three sharps, one flat etc.).
Among other features provided, worth mentioning the mixer that allows to make volume adjustments and set pan for each track, the virtual guitar fretboard, the metrix editor for percussion tracks and also the player that lets you play your musical compositions or other files in Guitar Pro and PowerTab formats.
Bottom line:
TuxGuitar is a complex music composition software that provides a wide range of editing tools and other useful features for all those interested in writing songs.
