HotShots can take quick screenshots using different capture modes including multi-monitor, full screen, active window and region selected with a rectangular or free-hand tool.
After taking the snapshot, you can set the program to automatically save the image to a specified location or open the editor for further annotations. You can draw various shapes, insert texts, increase/decrease the font size, add highlights and images, use a magnifier tool, add shadow with borders or torn edges and more.
Other options allow you to copy the screenshots to clipboard automatically, choose a default file name (with or without date and time insertion) and the image format (BMP, PNG, PBM, XPM and others) set the size of screen capture, customize the default hotkeys and upload to FTP server and other web services.
