After you identify which site you want to troll for images, 1st Webcollector asks you to specify the size and file type of images you're looking for, as well as where you want the files to be saved. We were surprised to find that the trial version would allow us to download up to 100 URLs, a large amount--but we were disappointed as we couldn't track the downloading process at all.
The bottom line: 1st Webcollector is far less robust than it claims. During one test, it took more than 10 minutes to collect some 20 images from one site. In the end, none of the images were successfully transferred. Feature-rich but functionally poor, this program could use an upgrade.
