With Yahoo Messenger you can make phone calls via internet .in the Status Bar the incoming calls are showed .You can set the ringtone and the type of sound when you receive a call .Also , you have an assistant who will show how to set the computer to make voice calls . Will configure automatically the microphone (were you are speaking when will be on the phone) and you can choose the volume (will be remembered by default). This setting can be done in Preferences (CTRL+P).
Sure , you can call other persons who are online with YM (for making calls in other networks like Vodafone or Orange mobile phones you must pay a tax).Skype is a similar program for internet calls .
