Regarding virus alert

There are several categories of software that can be detected as viruses because due their main functions modify operating system files, run in background, record keystrokes, detect passwords etc. This is called false positive or false alarm. A false positive means that the program can act like a virus, but actually is not a virus.

People may use common sense regarding before installing (the program is popular, is downloaded by many users, it has comments or reviews etc.).

Some categories where false positive alarm for programs are often:
- keyloggers (record keystrokes, record user activity, are installed in background and cannot be seen in Program Files)
- software that recover passwords or other type of data
- programs that track data transmitted thought network
